Janet Adeniji is ESSA’s Finance Manager for the UK, where she leads financial reporting, audit coordination, and supports budgeting and donor-funded project management across ESSA’s UK and international operations. In her role, she ensures that financial systems, controls, and reporting processes are robust, transparent, and aligned with ESSA’s mission to strengthen education systems across Africa through evidence and partnerships. 

She works closely with program teams and partners to support effective financial planning, donor compliance, and decision-making, contributing to initiatives such as the African Centre for School Leadership. Her work helps ensure that resources are managed efficiently and that financial insights support high-quality program delivery. 

Before joining ESSA, Janet served as Finance Manager at Release International, where she led the finance function and improved financial reporting, internal controls, and audit processes. 

She holds a BA (Hons) in Professional Accounting and has strong accounting training through ACCA.
