ESSA Statement on Black Lives Matter

Ending racism is a fundamental part of human rights, we unequivocally assert that Black Lives Matter.

We reaffirm the African Union’s rejection of the continuing discriminatory practices against Black people in the United States of America.

We stand in solidarity with those calling for an end to all forms of racial discrimination around the world.

Education is a driver of social change and justice globally. It is through a combination of education and action that systems of discrimination can be dismantled.

We know there is a lot more work to be done; the momentum must continue to create real change.
