Patrick is also Chair of the Royal Voluntary Service and Boardelta. He is the founder of Warwick in Africa, a Visiting Professor at Cranfield School of Management, a visiting Fellow at Warwick Business School, and the author of "Boards".

His previous executive career was with international investor 3i Group plc, latterly as Communications Director and a member of its Operating Committee.

Patrick was recently honoured with an OBE for his services to Charity and Philanthropy in Africa and the United Kingdom.
