Richard Amoah is the Head of Research and Stakeholder Engagement at ESSA. He leads and supports work that strengthens education research, stakeholder collaboration, and the use of evidence to improve education policy and practice. 

Richard brings over 15 years of experience in education programme design and management, with a focus on training school leaders and teachers in innovative pedagogies and community education for change. His work supports ESSA’s mission to connect data, evidence, and local knowledge with decision-making that improves education outcomes. 

Before joining ESSA, Richard led programmes at AfriKids Ghana, including the Ghana Complementary Education Programme and the Strategic Approaches to Girls’ Education programme. He also initiated an EdTech project for primary school learners and contributed to the development of national education policy at Ghana’s Ministry of Education. 

Richard holds multiple academic degrees, including a PhD in Culture and Development Studies.
