Andrea Aryee is a Finance Manager at ESSA, where she supports the organisation’s mission through strong financial management and operational efficiency. She ensures donor compliance, financial accountability, and the smooth running of in-country operations, contributing to the effective delivery of research and programmes that influence education policy and practice in Africa. 

She is particularly driven by the ability to translate financial data into clear, compelling narratives that demonstrate impact to funders, partners and key stakeholders. In her role, Andrea has led key initiatives, including the initial setup of a financial system in Ghana. She has also overseen compliance processes, managing various donor and statutory audits.  

She works closely with programme, research, and operations teams to align financial processes with project needs, ensuring resources are effectively planned, monitored, and utilised. Her work strengthens internal systems and supports evidence-based decision-making across the organisation. 

She holds a BSc in Administration from the University of Ghana and is a member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants, Ghana. She is an affiliate of the Association of International Certified Professional Accountants (AICPA and CIMA). She is also a Commonwealth Scholar, currently pursuing an MSc in Management and Information Systems at The University of Manchester.
