Rexford Akrong is a Research Manager at ESSA. He oversees ESSA’s core research activities in Ghana, contributing to the generation and uptake of evidence. Rexford collaborates with government agencies and non-governmental organisations to develop and implement a research agenda that addresses Ghana's evidence needs in education.

Rexford significantly contributes to research conceptualisation, through to the dissemination of findings at prominent forums. Rexford’s role has increased ESSA's visibility as a trusted partner in supporting the generation and use of evidence for education policy and practice in Ghana.

Before joining ESSA, Rexford worked with the All-Africa Students Union to implement a campaign on the rights to education and digital rights to foster digital inclusion for students in Southern Africa, serving as a monitoring and evaluation officer.

Rexford holds a BA in Economics from the University of Cape Coast, Ghana, an MSc in Agricultural and Applied Economics from the University of Nairobi, Kenya, and a PhD in Development Studies from the University of Cape Coast, Ghana.
