Rexford Akrong, Research Officer
Rexford joined ESSA from the All-Africa Students Union (AASU), where he served as a Programme Officer with responsibilities spanning multiple areas. These included the Education and Students Rights Working Group, the Environment and Climate Action Working Group, and the Pan-Africanism and African Culture Working Group.
At AASU, Rexford also worked as a Monitoring and Evaluation Officer on the Digital Inclusion Campaign which sought to increase access to digital tools needed to facilitate learning in eleven countries in Southern Africa.
Before joining AASU, Rexford was a Graduate Research Fellow at the International Institute of Tropical Agriculture (IITA) where he researched youth engagement in entrepreneurship activities in Benin Republic. He also consulted for the ANZISHA PRIZE on a research project on the impact of entrepreneurship on job creation for youth.
He holds a Bachelor of Arts in Economics from the University of Cape Coast, Ghana and a Master of Science in Agricultural and Applied Economics from the University of Nairobi Kenya.
