The Ghana Tertiary Education Commission (GTEC) is an agency of Ghana mandated to assure quality at the tertiary education level.
GTEC is ESSA’s first government partner for the pilot on “Demographics of Faculty.”
The Inter University Council for East Africa (IUCEA) was established in 1980 and originally called the Inter University Committee. IUCEA is hosted in Kampala, Uganda, with its main objective being to facilitate networking among universities in East Africa and with universities outside the region.
IUCEA works with ESSA on the Demographics of Faculty (DAF) initiative.
La mission de base et la force du Réseau pour les politiques internationales et la coopération en matière d’éducation et de formation (NORRAG) sont de produire, de diffuser et de négocier des connaissances essentielles, et de renforcer les capacités pour et avec un large éventail de parties prenantes. Ces parties prenantes influencent et façonnent les politiques et pratiques éducatives, tant au niveau national qu’international.
Le NORRAG et ESSA se sont associés à l’AFD pour soutenir la recherche sur l’éducation en Afrique de l’Ouest francophone, notamment au Burkina Faso. Le directeur d’ESSA a également pris la parole lors du symposium international de NORRAG sur « La philanthropie dans l’éducation : tendances mondiales, différences régionales et perspectives diverses » en novembre 2017, à Genève, en Suisse.

Research for Equitable Access & Learning (REAL Centre) (Recherche pour un accès et un apprentissage équitables) est l’une des principales institutions de recherche sur l’éducation au monde, basée dans l’une des meilleures universités au monde. La mission de l’Université de Cambridge est d’apporter sa contribution à la société à travers la poursuite de l’éducation, de l’apprentissage et de la recherche aux plus hauts niveaux internationaux d’excellence. Les priorités du REAL Centre s’alignent sur la stratégie internationale de l’université et y contribuent.
La Faculté d’éducation est au cœur de la mission de l’université et elle offre constamment d’excellents résultats. Le produit de son enseignement et de sa recherche de pointe a un impact considérable sur le monde réel, ses universitaires sont par ailleurs consultés pour des questions de politique par les gouvernements du monde entier, et ses projets internationaux collaboratifs affectent le changement sur le terrain.
Le REAL Centre s’appuie sur ce bilan solide , en exploitant et en augmentant les forces du corps enseignant, et en créant une masse critique d’expertise en éducation et en développement international afin de faire avancer son programme. Il s’appuie sur le travail important entrepris auparavant par le Centre pour l’éducation du Commonwealth et le Centre pour l’éducation et le développement international (CEID), notamment avec le programme RECOUP.

L’AUA est l’un des acteurs clés de l’enseignement supérieur en Afrique. Avec près de 400 membres, sa mission consiste à améliorer la qualité et la pertinence de l’enseignement supérieur en Afrique et de renforcer sa contribution au développement de l’Afrique.
Depuis son siège au Ghana, l’AUA sert de plateforme aux universités africaines pour coopérer sur la recherche, et pour réfléchir et se consulter sur les questions relatives à l’enseignement supérieur. Elle possède une capacité unique de rassembler et de communiquer avec les dirigeants institutionnels et les décideurs politiques des quatre coins de l’Afrique
L’AUA a formé un partenariat avec ESSA en 2017 et nous avons travaillé ensemble sur une série de projets, notamment la « “Démographie du corps enseignant» et la création d’un « site d’offres d’emploi panafricain » L’AUA a également donné à ESSA un rôle de premier plan lors de sa conférence 2017 du 50e anniversaire à Accra, élargissant ainsi le réseau et la réputation d’ESSA à un stade précoce de son développement.

In 2017, Ashesi University started the Education Collaborative initiative. The initiative leads a collaborative of Higher Learning Institutions in Africa to collectively and sustainably raise the bar for higher education outcomes.
L’université Jacobs est une université privée de campus de langue anglaise offrant les normes les plus élevées en matière de recherche et d’enseignement, basée à Brême, en Allemagne. Elle compte un nombre important d’étudiants africains provenant d’un large éventail de pays et de milieux.
L’université Jacobs s’est associée à ESSA de plusieurs façons, notamment à travers des ateliers avec ses étudiants africains, des projets rémunérés et des missions pour soutenir notre activité sur les médias sociaux.

Le Population Reference Bureau (PRB), à Washington, DC, est l’une des principales institutions démographiques du monde. Elle s’efforce de diffuser dans le monde entier des informations sur la population, la santé et l’environnement, dans l’espoir qu’elles soient utilisées afin d’améliorer le bien-être des générations actuelles et futures. Son produit phare est la fiche de données sur la population mondiale.
Le PRB travaille avec l’AUA et l'ESSA sur l’initiative portant sur la Démographie du corps enseignant.

The Regional Universities Forum for Capacity Building in Agriculture (RUFORUM), established by ten vice chancellors in 2004, is a consortium of 121 African universities operating within 38 countries spanning the African continent. The consortium will be a key partner for ESSA in the next phase of our strategy.

L’Université de Warwick a été un partenaire important pour ESSA, avant même sa création. Le catalyseur de la création d’ESSA a été l’expérience de son fondateur, l’ancien élève de Warwick, Patrick Dunne, dans la fondation et la croissance d’une autre œuvre de charité avec Warwick, Warwick in Africa (WIA). Depuis 2006, WIA bénéficie à plus de 465 000 jeunes Africains dans les zones défavorisées et rurales avec un enseignement transformé des mathématiques et de l’anglais. Warwick a également apporté son soutien et ses encouragements lors de la première recherche de preuve de concept pour ESSA.

Dans le cadre de l’approche d’ESSA visant à placer les Africains au cœur de tout ce qu'elle entreprend, les élèves et les enseignants des écoles de Warwick en Afrique ont participé à une série d’ateliers sur deux ans en Tanzanie et en Afrique du Sud. Ces ateliers ont non seulement façonné la stratégie et les priorités d’ESSA, mais ont également donné à l’Afrique une voix puissante.

The Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation has provided funding to ESSA to augment its work in promoting African researchers.
The Conrad N. Hilton Foundation is a family foundation established in 1944 to provide funds to nonprofit organisations working to improve the lives of individuals living in poverty and experiencing disadvantage throughout the world.
Conrad N. Hilton Foundation’s $1.5 million commitment will support ESSA’s research project in collaboration with the Research for Equitable Access and Learning (REAL) Centre at the University of Cambridge, UK.
Carnegie Corporation of New York is one of America’s oldest grantmaking foundations that seeks to promote the advancement and diffusion of knowledge and understanding.
ESSA, together with IUCEA, AAU, and PRB, have secured $390,000 of funding from Carnegie Corporation of New York for a two-year research project focusing on understanding and addressing ‘faculty challenges’.

The Bosch Foundation has also provided considerable non-financial support, including seconding ESSA’s founding director, Olaf Hahn, providing board support through the trusteeship of their CEO, and providing access to its broad network of relationships in Africa and around the world.
As part of Canada’s foreign affairs and development efforts, the International Development Research Centre (IDRC) champions and funds research and innovation within and alongside developing regions to drive global change.
ESSA has been supporting IDRC's research, particularly the IDRC-funded COVID-19 research in West Africa.

Dubai Cares partnered with ESSA in 2019, providing $1.5 million to strengthen ESSA as an organisation and accelerate its vision of high-quality education in sub-Saharan Africa that enables young people to achieve their ambitions.
The Mastercard Foundation is one of the world’s leading foundations in the higher education space, with a strong presence in Africa, especially in capacity building and scholarships. The Mastercard Foundation was a natural partner for ESSA on the "Demographics of Faculty" project, providing funding for the Ghana pilot as well as other support and insights.
The Jacobs Foundation has a main focus on the promotion of child and youth development all over the world. Seeing the value of ESSA’s partnership with the REAL Centre at the University of Cambridge to promote African researchers, the Jacobs Foundation was a key funder of that work.
As a significant foundation in the education space, the Jacobs Foundation supported ESSA in building its profile and relationships in West Africa.
The Schaufler Foundation aims to combine entrepreneurship with science, research, education, and the arts.
In the field of education, the foundation supports a variety of universities in Germany. It collaborated with ESSA to expand its activities into Africa. The Schaufler Foundation contributed significantly to ESSA's Pilot Scholarship Impact Hub project.
UNHCR, the UN Refugee Agency, is a global organisation dedicated to saving lives, protecting rights, and building a better future for refugees, forcibly displaced communities, and stateless people.
UNHCR and ESSA mapped tertiary education and vocational opportunities in West and Central Africa.
