About

Olaf was appointed Founding Director of ESSA in 2016 and CEO in 2019, on secondment from his position as Senior Vice President and Head of the Education, Society and Culture department at the Robert Bosch Foundation.  

He has worked as an editor and within sales and was a lecturer at the University of Gdansk, Poland. Educated in France, Germany and the USA, he is multi-lingual. 

Currently, Olaf is co-owner of Catalytica Consulting, which supports foundations and corporations to increase their impact and conducts impact monitoring and evaluation for education innovations, funders, and other projects, with a focus on Africa and Europe

He was recently appointed as Director for The HundrED Foundation – an organisation focused on education innovation implementation research and scaling support.
